A DAY IN THE LIFE

Melissa describes her role as the essential support structure for the sales process: "I support the sales team by keeping them organized as opportunities go through the sales process and finally are signed. I also assist with managing the office, communicating with the employees, and planning internal and external events." Her work is dynamic, but a typical day involves crucial sales support tasks, such as:

  • Deal Tracking: Following each deal through the process from the engagement letter to payment from the client.
  • Financial Reporting: Tracking and compiling monthly sales data into spreadsheets for reports—a task she enjoys, given her finance background!
  • Event Planning: Organizing significant projects like client holiday parties and other internal/external events.
  • Office Management: Communicating with employees and managing the Chicago office.

REWARDS OF THE JOB

For Melissa, the most rewarding moments are seeing a deal come to fruition. She finds satisfaction in being able to help demonstrate the value of GA Group's product, taking genuine pride in what the team offers, and securing new client partnerships. Equally important is the focus on relationship building. Contributing to the strength and longevity of client relationships is central to the team's ongoing success.

GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT

Always eager to learn, Melissa is actively developing her knowledge of our clients and the industries we serve. Her focus is on elevating GA Group's customer experience and ensuring we consistently deliver on our promises.

ADVICE TO NEW TEAM MEMBERS

When asked for advice for those new to the GA Group family, Melissa emphasizes two core values:

  1. Hard work pays off. Acknowledge the "ebbs and flows" of the business—some days are busy, and others are calmer—but consistent effort is key.
  2. We are family. "Everybody is treated equally and heard at GA Group, which can't often be said or experienced in other companies."

PERSONAL SIDE: A PASSION FOR LEARNING AND TRAVEL

Beyond the office, Melissa's life is rich with family and personal pursuits that highlight her dedication and discipline:

  • Family: Melissa has been married for 23 years and has a 20-year-old daughter studying Nursing at IU Indianapolis.
  • Bowling Champion: Melissa is an avid bowler with over 30 years of experience, carrying an impressive 205 average in her league! She has bowled two 300 [perfect] games; the first when she was just 15 years old!
  • Travel Agent: A fun fact most people don't know? Melissa is a certified travel agent! She is certified through Disney and various cruise lines, enjoying helping friends and family plan trips, including her family's favorite destination, Disney World, and her most unique trip to Iceland in 2022.

Melissa's personal mantra perfectly reflects her professional ethic: "Hard work pays off."

This mindset, combined with her commitment to supporting others and her continuous drive to learn (evidenced by earning her MBA during COVID), makes her an invaluable member of the GA Group team.
